Jojo Ackerman began his professional tattooing career at the young age of 22 in 1992 in his hometown of Lancaster, CA. Under the mentorship of the renowned Mike Pike, Jojo completed a traditional apprenticeship, a crucial step in the pre-internet era of tattooing.

Since his apprenticeship, Jojo has traveled the world, collaborating with friends as a guest artist and participating in various conventions. This ongoing journey has allowed him to expand his tattoo education and professional network.

Today, Jojo Ackerman, along with his friend Robert Atkinson, operates the Ten Thousand Waves Tattoo Gallery in Sherman Oaks, CA. This gallery serves as a hub for creativity and innovation in the tattooing world.
